Hands-on application brings the concepts to life for kids.
Go to Exchange City USA and click the 'Accounting Tutorial' link in the right menu.
2. Click the 'City Hall Expense Form' to open the form in your PDF reader and print the 'Business Expense Form' for City Hall.
3. Click the 'Here' link to open the tutorial to the first page with the header 'Accounting Software Tutorial.'
4. Click the 'Beginning Balance' link to go to the first section of the tutorial. Follow the onscreen instructions.
5. Find the 'Total Amount of Loan Required' box in the bottom half of the 'Business Expense Form' you printed and enter it where directed by the onscreen instructions.
6. Follow the instructions to complete the 'Beginning Balance' section of the tutorial. At the completion of each section of the tutorial, you will be returned to the 'Accounting Software Tutorial' page.
7. Click the link for the next section, 'Payroll.'
8. Find the 'Total Net Pay for Day' section at the bottom of the 'Business Expense Form' and enter it when the instructions in the 'Payroll' section direct you to do so. Follow the instruction to complete this section of the tutorial and return to the 'Accounting Software Tutorial' page.
9. Complete each of the remaining four sections, 'Writing a Check,' First Loan Payment,' 'Final Loan Payment' and 'Deposits.' Click the link for the next section when returned to the 'Accounting Software Tutorial section until you have completed all the sections.
