Create a New Currency Pair Chart
1. Click on File/New. A pop-up menu listing possible currency pair choices will appear.
2. Click on your new chart choice, such as EURJPY, the Euro/Japanese Yen. This new chart will appear in the chart work space.
3. Click on the chart to select it. The top of the chart will change from light to dark blue.
4. Size the chart with the following choices: Click on the maximizing box on the top right side of the blue bar of the chart to fill the work space or change the chart dimensions by dragging the cursor at the edge of the chart. You can also click on the top menu bar, select Window and choose Cascade, Tile Horizontally or Tile Vertically to size automatically.
Set Chart Properties
5. Choose the chart's Period by clicking on M1,M5, M15, M30, H1, H4, D1, W1 or month in the second menu bar, or from the main menu bar select Charts/Periodicity and select a period.
6. Choose chart color properties at Charts/Properties/Colors. Set colors for parameters listed there.
7. Choose chart bar types and other properties by going to Charts/Properties/Common.
8. Choose number of bars in memory at Tools/Options or leave as the default. This is helpful if your computer has limited memory.
9. Display fewer or more bars for the chart in memory, using the Plus and Minus symbols in the main menu bar. This visually squeezes or expands the charts bars on the screen.
10. Set the chart to display from the right, or beginning, of the data with symbols just to the right of the minus button in the main menu.
Add Indicators, Expert Advisors and Tools to the Chart
11. Expand Indicators in the Navigator menu, then drag the needed indicator to the active chart or select the Indicator from Insert/Indicators. Set it's properties with a pop-up menu on the chart.
12. Expand Expert Advisors in the Navigator window and drag the EA to the chart, or double-click on it and set its parameters.
13. Add tools such as Fibonacci and Gann levels to the chart by going to Insert and selecting the proper tool.
