1. Look for the country name printed on the paper money. Even if you do not speak the foreign language the country name is easily identifiable. Oftentimes, because English is the world business language, the name of the country is printed in English on the money.
2. Search for a monetary value on the bill. Most countries have this printed in number form so there is never a great debate as to how much the money is worth.
3. Compare the size of the paper money to different bills of the same currency. In a variety of different countries, the more the money is worth the larger the bill.
4. Log onto a site such as XE.com. This is a word currency converter that is up-to-date with current currency trade. If you want to know how much the foreign currency is worth in American dollars or any other currency you can select the value of the currency, the country it is from, and the currency you want to convert it to.
