1. Check to see if your bank offers free currency exchanges. Many banks will exchange currency for free for their customers. If your bank does not offer free currency exchanges, call several other banks to find out their currency exchange rates. If you are traveling, you can typically find a currency exchange booth at all major airports. However, the fees will be slightly higher than if you were to exchange the currency at a bank.
2. Perform a currency exchange calculation prior to exchanging your currency. There are several free currency exchange calculators available online. It is important to know approximately what the money you are exchanging is worth so that you do not get accidentally short-changed.
3. Bring all of the money that you would like to exchange to the currency exchange center of your choice. Tell the representative that you would like to exchange the currency for dollars.
4. Count the money received from the currency exchange center to ensure accuracy.
