1. Visit nasdaq.com to check the Nasdaq stock exchange. The home page provides an overview of the Nasdaq and Dow Jones industrial average. it also provides tools to help you analyze and pick the wisest stocks for your portfolio.
2. Register to use MSN Money. MSN Money boasts about being the only financial website of its kind to provide real-time stock quotes without charging a fee. Click My Money at the top of the page, and login with your Windows Live username and password. If you don't have one, click Sign Up to register.
3. Enter the stock symbol of your choice to receive a stock quote.
4. On the left side, click Real-Time Quote for an up-to-the-second price update of the exchange or individual stock of your choice.
