How to Use a Currency Calculator

Posted by at 4:53 AM Read our previous post

1. Use a computer with internet access.
2. Locate a currency calculator online by doing a search for 'currency calculator.' There will be a ton of choices available, choose the one that seems simplest to you.
3. Decide which two currencies to find the exchange rate for. If you want to know the exchange rate of the United States to France, you are actually looking to compare the US dollar to the Euro. The currency used in each country can be quickly found by doing a little research into the country.
4. Select these two countries and their currencies from the drop down boxes provided on the calculator site. Be careful to put them in the correct order; if you want to find the exchange rate of US dollars into Japanese yen, you must list the currencies in that order.
5. Input the amount that you would like to know the conversion rate for. If you want to know how $10 US dollars converts to Japanese yen, then enter '10' into the amount space. By default most currency calculators will give the exchange rate of one unit unless otherwise specified.
6. Click 'Submit,' 'Go,' 'Calculate,' 'Convert Currency' or the specific tab for the website you are using.
7. Understand that the number that has been calculated for you is the value of the first amount you entered, now in terms of the currency you were exchanging it into.
