1. Use a credit card or debit card. Cards with a Visa or MasterCard logo are widely accepted. There will be a fee charged for converting your purchase to euros, which will depend on your credit card company or bank. Places that cater to tourists may take American Express. Tips are usually given in cash.
2. Withdraw from an ATM. You may use your debit card or credit card to withdraw euros. Be aware of the conversion rate when you balance your account, as well as any fees involved with ATM withdrawals.
3. Convert your dollars at a currency exchange. These exchanges are in airports, or you can go to a local bank. Many currency exchanges charge hefty fees for conversions, however.
