1. Use an online calculator. Sites such as XE.com, ExchangeRate.com and TheFinancials.com offer calculators and update their conversion rates at least once a day. See links below to pages specific to CAD and GBP.
2. Download a desktop widget to perform the calculation for you. A desktop widget is a software application with self-contained code that provides a small graphical interface to a much larger application, such as an online currency site. Many widgets, such as currency widgets, are web-connected in order to keep their information current. By comparison, weather widgets give you up-to-date forecasts in a small graphical box by linking to the Internet.A widget for PCs is available at the Softpedia link below. Note that you'll need to download the Yahoo Widget Engine first. A widget for Macs is available at the Apple link below. If your Mac has an Intel processor, click the UNIVERSAL icon instead of the MAC icon.
3. Check the historical conversion rate between CAD and GBP at the x-rates.com or IndexMundi.com link below. IndexMundi.com provides historical information going back up to 10 years.
