1. Read books about technical analysis. There are many books that explain technicals in detail. These books are divided into two types: for novice traders and for experienced traders. You should choose the books that match your experience or level of expertise.Must-read books on technical analysis include: 'Technical Analysis Explained: The Successful Investor's Guide to Spotting Investment Trends and Turning Points,' by Martin J. Pring; 'Technical Analysis From A to Z,' by Steven B. Achelis; and 'Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets: A Comprehensive Guide to Trading Methods and Applications,' by John J. Murphy.
2. Learn about technical analysis online at many trustworthy, free websites such as Investopedia, MSN Money, The Motley Fool or Yahoo! Finance. These sites offer free education on stock market investment, and you can learn whenever you want, at your own pace.
3. Pay for online or classroom courses. Many institutions and universities offer courses on technical analysis to traders and investors. You can decide to learn online or in a physical class, depending on your schedule. If you are busy with your day job, an online course is the best option. You can visit sites like Online Trading Academy, the Society of Technical Analysts or New York Institute of Finance to find out more about the courses available.
4. Contact a reliable mentor to help you with your technical analysis. A private mentor will cost you more than a course but provide you much more. Your mentor will monitor your trades, point out your faults and teach you how to analyze rightly. Some famous mentor programs are StockMarketMentor.com, The Stock Mentor and WallStWise.com.
