1. Ask people who recently traveled internationally if they have foreign money. It's possible that they may have some leftover money that was too small of a sum to exchange or convert. If they aren't keeping the currency for some other purpose, they will probably let you have it.
2. Send a message to any friends or family members who live in a different country. Request that they send you a small sum of foreign money, and offer to give USA currency in exchange.
3. Visit websites such as eBay and bid on foreign money auctions near closing time to prevent others from topping your bid. If you win a bid, the seller will send the coin to your home. Add the coin to your collection or resell it for more money.
4. Go to your local coin shop and see if they have a section for foreign coins. Many shops have a foreign coin bin that you can rummage through for currency. Most foreign coins sold at shops are affordable for collectors.
5. Find a local foreign currency dealer who has a good reputation as a dealer. Some dealers require their buyers to exchange currency in bulk instead of one-by-one. Most dealers carry more types of foreign currency than a foreign currency exchange bureau.
