1. Access your web browser and go to the UK Directgov website (direct.gov.uk). This website provides access to many Great Britain government services, including driver licensing.
2. Click on 'Motoring'.
3. Click on 'Need a new or updated licence'.
4. Click on 'Form ordering service'.
5. Complete the on-line ordering form. Include your name and address and check the box beside 'D1 Pack - Application for a driving licence for a car, moped or motorcycle'. The DVLA will send you your D1 application package by mail.
6. Complete the D1 license application.
7. Enclose your required documents, photo and fees. You must enclose your valid passport, your valid Canadian driving license, one color, passport-sized photograph and the license fee of GBP50 (US$81.44). You can pay your license fee by a check or money order made out to 'DVLA, Swansea'.
8. Submit your application. Send your application, along with the required documents, photo and fees, by mail to the DVLA at Swansea, SA99 1BT. You should receive your Great Britain driving license within 15 business days of the DVLA receiving your application.
