How to Set Up VPS to FOREX Trading

Posted by at 7:42 AM Read our previous post

1. Set up a link to the virtual private server from your desktop. You should be able to right click on the desktop and select 'New' and then 'Shortcut.' At this point, you will need to enter the IP address of your virtual private server and name the shortcut. This will allow you to click on the icon from your desktop and then access the virtual private server at any time.
2. Upload your expert advisor to the virtual private server. This process will be different for each type of VPS service in the market. You will need to upload the file through a special file manager in most cases. This will take the expert advisor file from your computer to the virtual private server.
3. Install the trading platform that you want to use on the virtual private server. Some VPS services come with the popular Metatrader platform already installed. This trading platform is offered by most Forex brokers. If the server does not have the platform that you need, you can generally get online through the server and download the platform you need from the broker's website.
4. Install the expert advisor to the trading platform on the virtual private server. You should be able to click on the install icon on your expert advisor file. Then you will need to specify where to install the file. Many programs will automatically put it in the right place once you select the trading platform location. If not, you can generally put it in the 'experts' folder of your trading platform.
5. Set up the expert advisor on your trading platform. Once it is installed, you will typically only need to drag it onto a Forex chart to get it started. Depending on what type of expert advisor you have, you may need to enter some information such as the lot size that you wish to trade. Then you can log off of your VPS, and the expert advisor will begin trading for you.
